About Us

The Beginnings of White Star

From a young age I (Brianna) have had a strong connection with dogs. As a young child having gone through a very traumatic experience, Tiger (my family dog at the time) was there. She was by my side to comfort me and show love as dogs often do and in a time where I needed it most. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized how much her interaction in that experience had impacted my life and forever changed my love for dogs.

As years went on I continued to grow my love for animals. In middle school I would volunteer at a local vet office where I would assist in surgeries, care for inpatients and attempt to rescue any pup that needed a home. As a high schooler I joined FFA and starting raising Pomeranians for my yearly project. Through that experience I learned so much and there began my passion for breeding.

In 2008 my Husband and I moved our young family from the east coast to the Midwest. Shortly after we added a beautiful chocolate lab, Abby to our family. As I got to know her pedigree and genetics in combination with the most perfect temperament we decided to create the White Star Brand. We focused on creating the perfect family Labrador. Many of our early pups went to families that were in need of healing. Healing from loss, illness, you name it. As I got to know these families and see the way my pups were serving them I found my WHY.

Those who know me, know that I love to see people shine, I love to make others feel good, and I love to see others heal from the traumas of life. This is consistent in all aspects of my life. Being able to combine those things with my love for raising well bred, tested, healthy dogs that can join their families on all of life's adventures is just icing on the cake and gives me so much fulfillment.

Why Aussiedoodles?

For years I fought the doodle craze. Not loving the genetic slurry I was seeing without any consistency. A lot of the traits I was seeing were not ones I would want to be breeding as a professional breeder.

Please understand this opinion was established before we had access to all the amazing genetic tests we now have access to. Breeder testing has come a long way and gives us access to so many things that were unknown before.

In 2019 while looking to add a pup to our family, I posted a question on social media asking what my friends had and why they loved them. So many had doodles, I joined all the groups, stalked all the breeders and received video after video of doodles adventuring with their families.

My requirements were specific, I wanted a family dog that was small enough to travel, could swim, hike, boat, and yet be calm enough to just hang out with the family. I was finally convinced we had found our breed in the Aussiedoodle. In the summer of 2020 we added Truffles to our family. She was a match made in heaven.

The Creation of White Star Aussiedoodles

At this time we no longer were breeding dogs and honestly I had no intention. However as I spoke with my Vet and started to dive into genetics, coat traits, temperament and so many other things I knew that if I was to start breeding again it would be with the highest standard and to eliminate a lot of the common issues seen in doodles. I guess once a breeder always a breeder.

Our breeding's are planned with intention, although there is still so much to learn we really do our best to isolate specific genetic traits to create the best coats, health traits and temperament possible.

We do this by partnering with other amazing breeders who align with our standards and values while also doing genetic testing and preforming Pennhip and OFA testing. Our puppies are not working dogs but meant for the average family with low to medium drive.

At White Star Aussiedoodles we believe that raising puppies comes long before the puppies are actually born. Over the years we have learned so much from our own experiences and continue to learn through many breeder resources and mentors.

Through this, we have a curriculum that we use to really help give our puppies a hand up in life. We work with them on handling stress, allowing them to adapt to new environments with a healthy/productive response, exposing them to routines, crates and the idea of offering attention.

Our goal for our program is to continue to grow and improve the breed, while creating the best companions.
